I installed Filezilla client today, and it automatically installed itself in Japanese without asking me for a language preference during installation. Even though the documentation says it the installation default is English, which is what I wanted and expected, it did not install in English! More than 6 years have passed since the original post in this topic. Who cares what location or locale a computer is set to? That may not have anything to do with the user's preferred language. The user almost always wants to use an interface in his own language. The simple solution would be to ask the user to choose an interface language during installation. Lots of software does that these days. Users worldwide are sick and tired of having to fix software because it "assumes" a language based on locale or location. Filezilla developers: please, please fix the installer.
