I have a project at work that I believe using an FTP software can help me achieve my results. I hope someone here can help me get to the final objective; transferring files from an older computer to a newer computer. I have no extra ports on the NT computer to use, and I also want to be able to access these files remotely; from another computer; using XP. See below....
I have an older PC that is running Windows NT 4.0, and its on its own network; with a hub that I can plug into. Lets call this the BZ network. I have another computer running XP, and its plugged into my company's network. I added a second NIC card to this XP computer, and plugged into the BZ network hub. Then, I went into the NT computer settings and activated the Windows MS Peer Web Services and have the FTP services active. I can ping this computer from the XP computer.
My question is, if I load Filezilla to my XP computer, will I be able to extract files from the NT computer?
