The QuickConnect bar and the Site Manager work the same. It's nearly impossible that one does work and the other doesn't.
Typing data into the QuickConnect bar does not update anything in the Site Manager. So did you, explicitly, open the Site Manager entry and re-typed your data THERE?
Do your credentials contain unusual characters like accented letters?
