I am setting up my Firezilla FTP Server. I have created a user account for my client, named it, and when I put in the password and click okay it accepts it, but when I go back in to look at it the password has changed from a six character password to one that is 32 characters long? What the heck?
Perfectly normal. FileZilla Server does not save the entered password itself, only its MD5 hash. That MD5 hash's string representation is exactly 32 characters long.

As hostname, it is possible to simply use the IP of the server machine. Since that isn't practical in many cases, you can get yourself a domain name/URL (from a third-party, not us) your clients can use.
1. For a true domain name, your line's IP must be static (never changing).
2. With a dynamic IP, you need to get a dynamic DNS URL instead (like no-ip.com or the like).
3. If the server operates behind NAT, the server and NAT have to be configured (see Network Configuration, Passive mode). In this case the dynamic DNS or domain URL must resolve to the IP of the router, not your machine.
