OK, I suspect I'll get hammered for mentioning this topic again and told to search the form etc - which, incidentally I did.
Anyway, here goes.
I'm using Filezilla 3.2.2.1 to transfer data files (usually CSV or XML) from a Windows XP environment to a Solaris 10 environment. I drag and drop the file between the two window panels. When I cat the file on the UNIX box it all looks lovely. When I use vi to look at the file, each line end (except for the last one) displays ^M. These ^M characters aren't visible in the original file in the Windows environment.
Now I know the reason for this and the second post in this thread explains it quite nicely:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17388&p=68006&hilit=FTP+carriage+return+problem#p68006
However, I've tried to transfer these files using ASCII setting (which should take care of the CR LF conversion) but it doesn't work. The binary setting does the same thing (obviously).
Any ideas? I've been fiddling with the settings in Edit -> Settings -> Transfers -> File Types -> Default Transfer Type/Automatic File Type Classification/andd the two checkboxes. Nothing seems to work. I don't fancy having to run a scrpit on the UNIX box to strip them out seeing that the FTP and server using the ASCII option should be doing it for me.
Thanks in advance.
