I am using:
- filezilla v3.5.3 client on ubuntu 12.04 against pure-ftpd on redhat v4.1.1 server
- filezilla 'server - force showing hidden files' = yes
- no filters active
- /etc/pure-ftpd.conf - contains: 'DisplayDotFiles yes'
problem: .htaccess file does not show up in server listings - nor any other 'dot'/hidden files.
additional info: 'raw mode' does not list the htaccess/hidden files either. passive/active mode - makes no difference.
i have read and understood : http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/4594 - which seems relevent, but is an unsatisfactory response - given:
a) every other ftp client i have used shows hidden files against this server (including older versions of filezilla)
b) same filezilla client against other servers (newer OS's) - shows hidden files ok - (yes, i realise this means it is a compatibility issue against this server os version/config in particular - vis: the 'MLSD' vs 'LIST' vs '-al' issue - but just saying this and blaming it on a 'broken server' (which it is NOT) - is not helpful,
b) this is a critical and common requirement
c) numerous users have raised this issue - here on the forum and on ticket system - with no working solution offered.
Please, has anyone found a solution to this? (whether server side connfig or client config? - eg: 'forcing some sort of legacy 'LIST' mode?)
Any assistance much appreciated
Thanks.
