Thanks for clarifying which version is most recent since I already have Filezilla 3.5.3 up and running in Linux Mint 13. In Firefox I had downloaded but could not open FileZilla_3.6.0.2_x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.bz2. The rest of what you said requires more knowledge than this newbie has. Again, thanks for clarifying.
