Most bizarre. Do you have any third-party programs installed that deal with threading?

The copier uses Active mode FTP, as can be seen by the PORT command in the log. In Active mode the server connects back to the client to do the data connection stuff. It's this connection that fails. Means, either FileZilla Server is not allowed to make outgoing connections, or something at the copiers side is blocking incoming ones.

FileZilla Server is Windows-only. You'd need to try Wine.

Also note that the latest versions of FileZilla Server might not work with old (pre-SSE2) CPUs.

Your topic sounds like a commercial blog post. Totally void of information and utterly useless. Are you by change working for a SEO organization?

Take this to heart: Content is king. For example, don't talk about being there challenges. Nobody is interested in empty statements. Instead, have you considered describing the challenges?

The server is running an old version of FileZilla Server, you need to update to the most recent version.

Furthermore, the server isn't configured correctly. Please read the Network Configuration guide. You can test your configuration on https://ftptest.net/

Ftp Password twice

Hi forum,
since i am using a newer version of filezilla, it is required, to enter the password of the ftp-user twice, once at the login-fields on top of the filezilla-window - i am of course used to that - and also when i transfer the first file from the remote server to my local computer.

I am wondering about this second requirement for entering the login, when i draw the first file of that session to my computer. With the old version this was not required. Can you tell me why this is important now in the newer version?

Also, i just discovered, that i would not have to enter the password, if i transfer the file by double clicking on it, instead of drawing it over, for the later (like i said) entering password again is required. Why?

Thanks, Jonas

Thanks for the reply. No, it just converted all the sites to "Ask for Password" which is troubling for the pace I work and the volume of sites I deal with. I have no choice but to go back and re-enter all of them.

Did you get a question/dialog window when using QuickConnect and did you read it carefully?

My guesses: Either firewall issue or might have blown a quota.

FileZilla connectivity works for server with Windows 2003 OS. Connectivity failure from server with Windows 2012 OS.
Server with Windows 2003 OS has older version of Serv-U FTP software version 5.2 installed.
Server with Windows 2012 OS has Serv-U FTP software version 15.0.1 installed.
FileZilla client is 3.9.03.
FileZilla client attempts to open connection for MLSD rather than Directory Listing. End user receives connection failure

Unfortunately the log is incomplete. Some lines at the top are missing.

Cannot connect to any server. That is the same thing it says before I even try to connect.
Isn't the host the same as the external IP address?

I have the same host but different usernames for different sites.

If I type home.gate.net with the username and the password, it makes the connection fine.
If I type home.gate.net with the other username and the password, Filezilla does not even try to connect. It isn't aborted. There is just no action.

I typed the information several times in case I made a mistake. There is still no action.

Both of these worked with the older version of Filezilla which you no longer support. I forgot the number.

I don't understand why one works and the other does not work using the same process.

FileZilla Server install

Ok , im new to filezilla. I have successfully installed the server, not rocket science. When i try to access my ftp site from the outside i can not get a directory listing be windows ftp or the zilla client. The zilla client i get "200 CDUP successful. "/" is current directory" whichs shows NOTHING. If i use windows it just logs me in, i get directory listings and i see everything, and get into only some folders. Something is messed up, i need to only see one directory for specific users.

please help.. i know its alot

Filezilla not uploading complete file

This one has burned me a few times (luckily with a second backup). Hoping to get some clarity.

A lot of times my Filezilla client will not load a complete file from my computer to the server. Happened several times where it would cut off after line 2000something. It only happens some of the time, and I'm not sure what's causing it. Most importantly it tells me the file transferred successfully!

Tried a few other FTP clients and it's never happened on those. I really like Filezilla but this has been a pretty big problem that I'm hoping to fix, otherwise I'll have to switch.

Thanks in advance for any help!

David

I also just got this error message for the first time. Anyone know what it is/why it's showing up?

Funny, I admit I missed the part where the stored passwords would be deleted for my safety. Reminds of the current Linux community disabling my Nic so I won't hurt myself. I suppose sheeple need that, but I don't.

Anyway, thanks in all seriousness for a good product. I survived the issue.
