Then you didn't set the correct permissions on the shared directory. By default only List and Read are selected, but uploading needs Write permissions as well. Just check that box, too.

Double check the filename. Windows likes to hide certain file extensions, so if the editor adds a .txt to the name Windows won't show it. Of course, then the file doesn't work.
